• All articles on Dunepedia are to be written in the Garramond font, no exceptions. If you see an article that is not in Garramond, please change it.
• When creating a new page, first ensure that a link to the new page has been added to the category or sub-category that the page is under. If the page is under a sub-category, do not add it the the category that the sub-category is under as well.
  
• All text is to be Left Justify.

• All articles must be spell checked, and words linked to articles.
• Don't be afraid to link an article to Wikipedia, as this is encouraged.
  
• Articles must be split into chapters if long, with a heading at each new important point (also, split long chapter into sub-chapters using the "sub-header" text size).
• Names of articles must not include political or otherwise titles (for example: Baron Vladimir Harkonnen must be written as simply Vladimir Harkonnen).
• Unlike Wikipedia, the names of articles must be capitalised, (meaning that instead of a page's title being, for example, "Shield belt", it should be "Shield Belt".
• Unless it is part of an actual title, say, The Dune Encyclopedia, articles, such as Shield Wall, must not begin with "the".
  
• All information must be accurate and reliable. A number of good sources of information would be, of course, the books, but other sites such as Wikipedia are useful as well.
• Nothing (excluding images and quotes) must be copied from other sites such as Wikipedia.
• All articles must be neutrally written. This means no points of view, or personal thoughts on the subject.
  
• Be informative, but don't go off the point of the subject.
  
• An article must begin with a relevant quote. If no quote is available to you, add a comment asking others to search for one, or add the "Comment Needed" template to the bottom of the page.
  
• An article, (in most cases at least, ask an admin of moderator for help if you're not sure) must begin with a single Info Box, explained below, and relevant information must be placed, as well as a summarising image, into the Info Box.
• Important: Because there are so few illustrations concerning Dune, Dunepedia allows fan art, art that has been drawn by an unregistered fan, to be placed on it, so long as it is of fine quality, and clearly and recognisably represents the thing it is.
• As well as creating a comprehensive timeline of all Dune events, Dunepedia also aims to create an article for each year in the Dune Universe. To see an example of such an article, got to 10,191 A.G. Whilst the actual comprehensive timeline will chronicle events in order, Year pages will chronicle them by category.
  

Templates and Infoboxes

Main-Categories, Categories and Sub-Categories:

• Main-Category (There are only ever two of these. They contain regular Categories but no articles).
• Category (Placed under one of the Main-Categories, they contain Articles and Sub-Categories.)
• Sub-Category (A lesser division of a category, sub categories are the same as categories, and have the same "Category:" prefix.)

Vandalism means:

Do Not Feed the Trolls, say no to vandalism!

• Inserting information or media that is not relevant to the subject.
• Spamming.
• Removing information or media that is relevant to the subject.
• Using foul language or advertising on a page.
