Biographical Information
The first child of Paul Atreides and Chani, Leto Atreides II was named after Paul's father, Leto Atreides I, but was killed soon after his birth by Sardaukar who were raiding a Sietch. Paul's next child, Leto Atreides II, would carry the same name, and also be known as the "second", as though the first of the second (the Leto in question) had never existed.Biography
Born to Paul Atreides and Chani, Leto I was raised as a Fremen. Chani cared for him greatly, and he was a few years old by the time of his death. When the Sardaukar raided the Sietch he was in, Leto was killed, and his aunt, Alia Atreides, Paul's young sister, was captured, and taken to Shaddam Corrino's mobile palace structure.

actually Leto Atreides II was named after his paternal grandfather (Paul's father) Duke Leto Atreides. He is the one and only son of Paul Atreides and Chani Liet-Kynes. There was no other, and there was no Sardaukar raid on Sietch Tabr. There was a raid by two tigers, designed to kill the twin Atreides children, but the children outwitted them. Neither of the Atreides was captured nor were they killed. Alia kills herself later.
