Description
A heighliner was a massive spatial vessel controlled by the Spacing Guild that was large enough to hold a fleet of ships into its cargo carrier. It utilised the "space folding" method of transport, through which one could travel great distances without moving, and thus was bulky and un-aerodynamically shaped. It is likely to have possessed no engines or weapons  |

To use folded space, heighliners used both a Guild Navigator and a Holtzman Generator. The Generator's purpose was to fold the actual space, creating a complex warp that was then navigated by the Navigator.
Transportation of the Atreides
When the order was given to Duke Leto I that Arrakis would be put under care of the Atreides, a heighliner was prepared for them. This heighliner carried all of their ships and cargo to Arrakis, and was seen to appear above the planet a few moments later.
