Frank Patrick Herbert (accredited as Frank Herbert on the covers of his books), was a well loved science fiction author, and creator of Dune. He was born on the 8th of October, 1920, to Frank Herbert Sr and Eileen McCarthy Herbert. His life revolved mostly around his writing, and he developed a passion for it at an early age. He is most famous for his Dune novels, which explore the complex themes of humanity, such as politics, religion, philosophy and ecology.
